I met up with Joe and Meggie last Saturday morning for a just-for-fun photo shoot… that turned into a proposal!!!
Here’s the story in Meggie’s words:
“A little over a month ago Callie and I began corresponding through email about a themed couple photo-shoot we wanted to do called “A Winter Picnic”. Hot Chocolate, Blankets, and Flannel were involved and Joe and I were looking forward to it for so long. Callie and I met up over coffee to discuss details, props, and a lot of Jesus and I became even more excited! Lots of borrowed flannel, searching for props, and many time changes later to avoid the rain – February 1st finally came! Joe acted no different that morning and even agreed to me taking off my nail polish (which he could care less about). When we arrived to shoot that morning, nothing was out of the ordinary. We began posing in front of the cabin and doing whatever Callie told us from smiling and sipping Hot Cocoa to just being silly and ourselves…”
“…Then Callie took us to the back porch of the cabin and asked Joe to bring his guitar. As Joe was playing tunes of the song he wrote me when we first started dating he ‘accidently’ dropped his pick in the guitar. While he was retrieving his pick I was looking away and when I looked back he was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring in his hand! As I sat there in complete shock he said “Jaclyn Marguerite Burke, will you marry me?” I could barely talk, but when I did I said “are you serious!?” And he smiled and nodded. I finally got the word YES out and looked between Joe and Callie to make sure this was all real life. But it was and is – and the fact that Callie was there to capture it all blesses my heart so much and I am so grateful she was there to celebrate such a moment! I was still (and still am) processing it all!”
Joe “looking for his guitar pick”… it turns out he actually had a RING in there!
Meggie, you are STUNNING…
We then took a few more photos of this beautiful couple…
Just a few minutes after proposing, Joe went to play with this goat that was nearby where we had been shooting… so I thought it was fitting to include a couple of photos in this post. ;)
Meggie & me!
